Sterling Silver Care

Sterling silver can tarnish when exposed to humidity, chlorine, sulfer, salty air, cosmetics, perspiration, household bleach and other strong chemicals. To prevent tarnishing as much as possible, we recommend that you store your jewls in a safe, dry place and avoid wearing them when engaging in the below activities:

• Using lotion, hair products, fragrances and other cosmetics
• Household and outdoor chores
• Exercising at the gym or during contact sports
• Showering, bathing or swimming in pools, hot tubs, hot springs and the ocean

We do not recommend adding pressure or force to any of our jewellery as this is when it may bend, break or go out of shape. We recommend trying to keep your pieces away from one another to avoid them scratching and damaging further.  

Gold Plated Jewellery

As our sterling silver base metal is coated in layers of 18k gold, it is important to understand that gold plated jewellery can still scratch and tarnish. We recommend following the same care instructions we have provided for our sterling silver jewellery.

Precious Stones and Gems

Our precious gemstones have been handpicked for our jewellery however as these stones are delicate and precious, they can fall out of the jewellery and break. When cleaning your jewellery, we recommend warm soft detergent on the gemstones only. Do not use silver cleaner as it can damage the stone beyond repair.

Cleaning

Sterling silver only!

There are many different remedies used for cleaning sterling silver jewellery however we recommend using the jewellery polishing cloth sent with your order, a few drops of gentle detergent and warm water. You can soak the jewellery for a minute then gently rub the jewellery with the dry polishing cloth. You will be able to see the jewls become shiny and clean again. You may also use a soft silver polisher however you must keep the silver polish away from any precious stones.

Gold Plated Jewellery

You may wipe your gold plated jewellery after each use, using the polishing cloth received with your order to remove any dirt or debris. You may also soak it for a few minutes in warm, soapy water and dry it with a soft cloth as needed. Do not use any chemical cleaning solutions as this will strip away the gold plating.
